I know everyone keeps going on about how 2016 was the devil or whatever, but I tend to agree with @MsTexas1967 in that “it is becoming increasingly obvious that David Bowie has established a better alternate universe and is populating it selectively one-by-one”. Yeah, a lot of really inspirational and talented people carked it and yeah, that’s really sad, but it’s just like in 2014 when everyone was convinced that air travel was crazy dangerous because there were heaps of crashes that year. Not true! In terms of crashes, 2014 was had the lowest number of crashes in more than 80 years. It had a fairly high death toll, but that is not unusual or scarily high in comparison to other years. It was just the fact that the media focused on it, and it made it seem like there were more air disasters than normal (fact: there were actually less than earlier years). The below chart shows commercial aviation deaths per year, worldwide, and is taken from CNN, to put it in perspective for you.
