When I head to an event and one of the first things that happen is I get handed a coffee or wine, I know I’m at a gathering of people from my tribe. Clutching a delicious (free!) latte, I dived head first into what was an amazingly colourful Blogger Wardrobe Sale.
Caitlin (of Mummy Style Files), her ridiculously adorable daughter Hazel & I headed over to the Blogger Wardrobe Sale hosted by Bared Footwear at their Armadale store today, and phowww did we have to restrain ourselves. The event ran from 10 am – 2 pm, but we were lucky enough to be invited along to start our shopping frenzy at 9 am, and I’m bloody happy we did because even then it was busy.
Jess Dempsey (What Would Karl Do), Jasmin Howell (Friend In Fashion) & Sanchia Sevel (Tanarah) opened up their absolutely packed wardrobes in a valiant effort to clear some space and to give us access to some absolutely stunning pieces.
I was surprised by not only how many amazing items were on offer, but also at how attractively priced they were, with items ranging from a couple of dollars up to $250. After walking a few laps trying to unsuccessfully work out my plan of attack, I still couldn’t figure out where I wanted to spend my cold hard cash.
Like a magpie whose main goal in life is to collect shiny stuff, I headed on over to Sanchia Sevel’s gorgeous statement necklaces thinking I’d be able to get one, maybe 2. When she said they were $10 & $20 each, I think I made a weird sqeee noise and picked up most of them. So much for acting cool…
10% of all sales went to the Very Special Kids appeal, so splashing out and buying some goodies is technically for a good cause. Very Special Kids are a charity that helps nearly 1000 families in Victoria who have a child with a life-threatening condition with ongoing support. Many of the children they help care for don’t make it to adulthood because of the nature of their illnesses, so the work that they do is so immensely important for the families involved.
A huge thanks to Bared Footwear, Jess, Jasmin & Sanchia for throwing such a great event; Can’t wait for the next!
