Remember This

A short film for all those who are lost & wondering, unsure of what the future holds.

As I told a friend, there’s no point in worrying about what the future holds for you – it’s already happening. Just be kind, be logical, and live your life. The future will come.

We travelled through the US in our van, Susan Savandon, for nearly 3 months. Over this time we had ups and down, and found ourselves worrying about our future, as well as our past. This inspired me to put together a little something from some of the sights I filmed during our trip that took our breath away, and made me re-think my perspective on a lot of topics.

‘The Laughing Heart’ by the great Charles Bukowski seemed an apt narrative for these images.

your life is your life
don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission.
be on the watch.
there are ways out.
there is light somewhere.
it may not be much light but
it beats the darkness.
be on the watch.
the gods will offer you chances.
know them.
take them.
you can’t beat death
but you can beat death in life,
and the more often you learn to do it,
the more light there will be.
your life is your life.
know it while you have it.
you are marvelous
the gods wait to delight in you.
