When I first saw the collection’s lookbook, I was taken aback. The collections prior to it had all celebrated one classic form of masculinity or another (with a recent collection having an aviation/military influence), and I was expecting AMXANDER to follow in that format this time around.
But this collection… It seems to celebrate a lesser spoken about part of being a man, but one that’s just as important and influential: Fragility.
The pieces themselves are bold, determined and clean, clearly showing influences from Gucci & Yeezy (triple denim, more if you can!), Dolce & Gabanna (embroidery & patchwork features) and Balenciaga (sleeve-inception), yet the message behind them is clear to me: Embrace your fragility. And work it.
